PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER REVIEW SERIES (PERS)

The Professional Engineer Review Series (PERS) conducted by ISPE is designed as a brief review of key subject areas covered on the Fundamentals of Engineering and the Principles and Practice of Engineering examinations.

ISPE offers PERS each spring and fall leading up to the PE and FE exams in April and October.

Course Options
The nine-session Fundamentals Review Course prepares registrants for the "Fundamentals of Engineering" (Engineering Intern) morning examination and the General Engineering afternoon examination.

ISPE also offers discipline-specific courses in Mechanical Engineering (5-weeks), Electrical Engineering (6-weeks), and the all new Civil Engineering (7-weeks, 2 x per week), to prepare for the PE Exam.


Schedules, Fees and Locations
The registration form for the Fall PERS typically is posted in July, while the Spring PERS schedule typically is posted in December. The FE courses run approximately $435, with the PE courses running $300 (5 session Mechanical course), $365 (6 session Electrical course), and $525 (13 session Civil course).

All PERS sessions are taught by college professors and/or qualified practicing professional engineers.  Information is presented through lectures, discussions and problem-solving methods.  Some instructors utilize printed class notes as a supplement to their class topic.

Fall 2008 Exam Dates

Registration Deadline to take the Fall Examn:                                     May 15, 2008

         To register for an exam, you must fill out an application with IDFPR.
         Once your application is approved by IDFPR, you must register to take the exam.

Engineer Intern                (Fundamentals of Engineering):                 October 25, 2008

Professional Engineer   (Principles and Practice of Engineering):  October 24, 2008

Professional Engineer   (Fundamentals and Principles):                  October 24-25, 2008

Spring 2009 Exam Dates
Registration Deadline to take the Spring Exam:                                 November 15, 2008

         To register for an exam, you must fill out an application with IDFPR.

         Once your application is approved by IDFPR, you must register to take the exam.

Registration & Refund Policy
Advance enrollment deadline for the Fundamentals class is August 06, 2008.  The advance enrollment deadline for the PE level classes is August 29, 2008.  After these deadlines, the registration fee must include the non-refundable $50 late fee.

Complete payment must accompany the registration form.  A refund will be made if notice of cancellation is received PRIOR to the first night of class less a $25 cancellation fee.  After that date, no refunds will be issued, however, students may defer their enrollment until the next PERS course (Spring 2009).  Discounts will not be provided for course sessions missed or for enrollment after the start of the course.  Late fees are not refundable.  Books may not be returned. 

ISPE reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or to change the night on which classes are offered.  Cancellation decisions are usually made one week prior to the first class.  Registrants will be offered a full refund should classes be cancelled or moved to a different night prior to the start of the classes.  Classes postponed due to weather or other circumstances will be rescheduled but are not refundable.
