ILLINOIS SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS accomplishments in recent
months:
- Developed Continuing
Education Program - Developed a comprehensive
ISPE Professional Development Program to assist member engineers in
meeting the state’s new continuing education standards for
professional engineers.
- Improved Member Communications - Provided members and the
public with new communications tools and access to more information
and services about ISPE, engineers and the engineering profession – including
the new ‘members only’ bi-weekly newsletter, the ISPE
Insider.
- Redesigned Web Site - Redesigned and upgraded
ISPE website making the site more user-friendly, improving content
and highlighting
ISPE members from throughout Illinois. The site is located at www.IllinoisEngineer.com.
- Advertising Campaign - Developed a newspaper advertising
campaign designed to promote the importance of Illinois engineers
and the engineering
profession.
- Review
Courses - Provided face-to-face review courses for
professionals and students preparing for the PE and EI exams.
- P.E. Act Enforcement - Worked with the Illinois Department
of Professional Regulation to enforce violations of the professional
engineering practice act.
- Public Safety Employee
Licensing - Worked with the Illinois
Department of Transportation to ensure employees holding key public
safety positions maintain proper licensing.
- Engineering Scholarships - Awarded scholarships to engineering
students through the ISPE Foundation.
- Government Relations - Advocated for the interests of engineering
professionals and protected the public interest through an effective
government relations program.
- Supported Professional Engineer State Senator - The ISPE
PAC endorsed and supported the successful candidacy of State Senator
Dale
Risinger of Peoria -- the first Professional Engineer elected to
serve as a member of the Illinois State Senate in more than 50 years.
- PAC Funding Campaign - Developed a new campaign for contributions
to the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers Political Action
Committee.
